Description:

There are two basic “families” of rivet guns. The first is the Ingersoll-Rand family and the second is the Chicago Pneumatic family.

Over the years, many other companies have manufactured their own version of an aerospace production quality rivet gun, or have manufactured the rivet guns under license. Among those in the Ingersoll-Rand family is Jiffy (later APT/Jiffy and now Deutsch/APT). Sioux is now producing their commercial version of the APT/Jiffy. Among those in the Chicago Pneumatic family are J.P. Tools, Aircraft Tool Specialty, and Paramount.

Some of these names are still recognized, others are no longer in business, and others have merged under new names. Regardless, the aerospace production quality tools they manufactured are still highly valued throughout the aerospace industry.
